Committed

Sometimes, our commitment to things is misguided. There are some who will not miss a day of purchasing a lottery ticket for the miniscule chance we may one day win a large chunk of money. There are some (author of this page included) who commit an abundance of time to sports. We plan our days, weeks, and sometimes even our travels around football and our commitment to God is great as long as it does not interfere with sports and we do this for relatively little in return. There are some who let our lives revolve around work. We show up early, we stay late, and God is great as long as he does not interfere with our work schedule. And we do this for the hope to try and get ahead. There are some (author of this page not guilty at all) who commit ourselves to a healthy lifestyle. We watch what we eat, we exercise regularly, and we do this all in hopes of a longer living, more fulfilling life.

Imagine what our lives would be like if we made this same level of commitment to God. And the most perplexing thing is God grants all these things we seek. Unlike the lottery, God is a sure thing. Unlike sports, God returns our commitment level tenfold and never disappoints. Unlike work, the day we commit our lives to God, we are automatically ahead in life. And although a healthy lifestyle may or may not prolong your life… With God you WILL live forever.
